Director External Reporting

Primary Responsibilities of the Director of Technical Accounting: Ensures the integrity of Clean Harbors' financial information. Evaluates technical accounting matters as they arise and provides proper accounting and reporting alternatives and suggested conclusions. Assist with communication of technical accounting guidance to senior finance personnel and other Corporate functional groups (Tax, Treasury and Investor Relations) by working directly with finance leaders to ensure continued compliance with accounting guidance. Manages ongoing planning and communication with external auditor to ensure an open, trusting and collaborative relationship. Works effectively and efficiently with both internal and external auditors during audits. Ensures quality work papers and supporting schedules which can be suitable and subject to audit. Play a lead role in the company close process and issues timely and complete financial statements. Ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and readies the company to incorporate emerging changes in compliance requirements and specifically related to revenues recognition and lease accounting. Participates in the preparation and review of financial statements and related footnotes including all regular SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K) for a $3 billion North American organization. Also assist with the preparation all special financial statement requirements (8-K, debt offerings, equity offerings, etc.). Evaluates and leads the continuous improvement of company accounting practices, policies, control procedures, system enhancements and upgrades. Assist in developing and enhancing SOX controls and procedures by working directly with internal audit to ensure continued successful compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes Oxley Act. Lead and oversee technical accounting guidance for acquisition and divestiture activity and related disclosures (8-K, debt offerings, equity offerings, etc.). Work with external valuation and income tax specialists to ensure timely information related to technical accounting and reporting matters Proactively generates process improvements and efficiencies. Essential skill set of the Director of Technical Accounting: Technical Skills: 7+ years of experience specifically in Big 4 accounting environment serving on high visibility, transaction oriented, diversified, publicly traded clients or within a public company accounting department. Proficient user in Microsoft Office applications; Peoplesoft experience a plus. Communication Skills: Effectively communicates with and engages all levels of the organization verbally and in writing; translates technical decisions/strategies into business terms and implications; produces clear, understandable documentation geared for all audiences including CFO, CEO and BOD levels. Comfortable around senior management; strong interpersonal skills; builds constructive and effective relationships. Management of Resources: Allocates time and resources efficiently, focusing on ever-shifting priorities; continually seeks way to improve individual/team efficiency. Demonstrates ability to be an effective leader in a matrix reporting environment. Self-starter with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and take ownership of projects; performing job requirements with minimal oversight and attention to detail. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
