Charge Review Representative

Ensure the timely and accurate entry of all charges to Epic A/R from various sources, either manual and electronic
Ensure process for resolving edits related to referrals, validation of codes, CPT and ICD 10 in Epic WQ's is completed within acceptable timeframes
Work all edits related to registration, CPT, ICD 10 CM, POS, and modifiers
Review procedures and diagnoses using CPT and ICD10 codes
Office functions related to processing and handling of incoming mail and interoffice mail
Reporting to the Director of Revenue Cycle and Billing the duties of the Charge Review Representative involve the daily review of charges to ensure charges are processed correctly within a timely process. Charges reviewed are for various clinical source for multi-specialty services which include manual entry, resolution of edits and open encounters. The Charge Review Representative will use application including Optum and Optime for charge processing.
HS diploma or equivalent
1-2 years of experience preferred; direct experience in the healthcare field and billing systems preferred but not required
Knowledge of third party billing regulations preferred
The position requires a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently and has excellent time-management and problem-solving skills
Ability to utilize various information systems to maximize efficiency. This includes using Epic and other data base systems to process accurate medical billing and obtain accurate demographic information on patients
Attention to detail
Excellent computer and technical skills
Ability to carry out responsibilities accurately and independently
Maintenance of confidentiality is essential for this position
Microsoft Office experience
EPIC experience helpful
Medical Billing Experience - CPT and ICD10 helpful
Works well in a team environment

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
